Greenwich Music Time is delighted to announce Viking, award-winning cruise line, as headline sponsors at this year’s festival. The six-day riverside event will take place from 3 July – 8 July at the historic Old Royal Naval College.
Live music fans are being offered the opportunity to win a culturally enriching eight-day Viking cruise for two, sailing between Barcelona and Rome. On “The Iconic Western Mediterranean”, you and a guest can immerse yourselves in Catalonian and Tuscan art, history and architecture, and explore St.Tropez and Monte Carlo. As part of Viking’s Cultural Enrichment programme, guests will also enjoy five guided tours and a choice of excursions to customise their journey.
Greenwich – a town rich in maritime history – features in a number of Viking’s cruises including  “Into the Midnight Sun”, which departs from Greenwich Pier. In 2015, the iconic Viking Sea Ocean ship was also christened on the River Thames.
Headline acts for 2018 already announced are the world’s most successful classical crossover group Il Divo (5 July) and pop superstars Steps (8 July). The remaining headline acts will be announced on Monday February 19.
Greenwich Music Time director Peter Taylor said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Viking on board with Greenwich Music Time. This is a fantastic event, which takes place against the wonderful backdrop of the Old Royal Naval College on the banks of the Thames. It makes absolutely perfect sense to be working with a cruise operator on this festival and to be able to offer such a wonderful prize to one of our customers is great. We have a fantastic line-up planned for GMT 2018 and we look forward to working with not only international music superstars, but also a cruise operator which offers arguably the most elegant of cruise holidays.”
Wendy Atkin-Smith, Managing Director at Viking UK said: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Green Music Time festival and offering a true Viking experience to live music lovers from across the country – onsite at the festival and on board an iconic Viking ship.”
